Alejandra Vivas
Born in Austin, Texas but Venezuelan through parents, Dr. Vivas received her MD from Central University of Venezuela, where she graduated with honors in the top 5% of her class.
After finishing intern year at Cleveland Clinic Florida (Weston, FL), she did a research fellowship in Wound Healing at University of Miami (UM) where as a Post Doctoral Research Associate and Clinical Sub-Investigator she conducted multiple clinical trials and co-authored over 35 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. During that time, she was a volunteer member of the Wound Care Team that served in the UM Haiti earthquake relief project.
Dr. Vivas completed her residency in Dermatology and Cutaneous surgery at University of Miami receiving an award for excellence in dermatologic surgery.
She has spoken at national and international dermatologic conferences and has served as a reviewer for several dermatologic journals including Dermatologic Surgery Journal, International Wound Journal and Journal of Functional Biomaterials.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Vivas is passionate about all aspects of Dermatology including medical and cosmetic dermatology as well as dermatologic surgery.
