AKA Finklesteins disease
four months to three years old
benign, self-limited form of LCV (histology: LCV)

 

 

kid otherwise looks well;  i.e. no systemic features
presents with fever and tender edema affecting the face and extremities, but usually not the torso
larger, erythematous to purpuric plaques (medallion-like); acral
lesions have scalloped, rosette shaped borders
resolves spontaneously in 1-3 weeks
triggers:  infection, drug, vaccine
ddx:  HSP, Sweets, EM, urticarial vasculitis, Kawasakis disease, purpura fulminans
