the five L's extended ddx:

AKA epithelioid hemangioma
Kimuras disease:  may be a distinct variant with deeper seated lesions that have no initial overlying skin lesions
an apparently benign locally proliferating lesion composed of vascular channels with a surrounding infiltrate of lymphocytes and eosinophils
more common in Japan
etiology unknown, but antigenic stimulation following insect bites has been postulated

clinical:

commonly young adults (age 30-50) who present with a cluster of small, translucent nodules around the ear or the hairline
may also involve the oral mucosa
spontaneous regression in the majority of cases
peripheral blood eosinophilia may be present (especially in Kimuras variant)
treatment:  observe 3-6 months and await regression vs. intralesional cortisone injection or pulsed dye laser
