~ analogous to Weedon’s histologic group “gyrate erythemas”:
• | = a heterogeneous group with ~ similar histology |
• | a tight perivascular lymphohistiocytic infiltrate (the infiltrate is well demarcated and has a coat sleeve distribution, (which at times involves the vessel walls in the manner of a lymphocytic vasculitis) |
• | superficial gyrate erythema (~EAC) |
• | only the superficial vascular plexus |
• | epidermis with slight spongiosis and focal parakeratosis |
• | deep gyrate erythema – (e. migrans, otherwise simply called “deep gyrate erythema” or “deep EAC”) |
• | similar infiltrate involves both superficial and deep vascular plexuses |
