gyrate erythema NOS (aka annular erythema NOS) (see below)

"annular erythema" NOS

~ analogous to Weedons histologic group “gyrate erythemas”:

= a heterogeneous group with ~ similar histology
a tight perivascular lymphohistiocytic infiltrate (the infiltrate is well demarcated and has a coat sleeve distribution, (which at times involves the vessel walls in the manner of a lymphocytic vasculitis)
superficial gyrate erythema (~EAC)
only the superficial vascular plexus
epidermis with slight spongiosis and focal parakeratosis
deep gyrate erythema (e. migrans, otherwise simply called “deep gyrate erythema” or “deep EAC”)
similar infiltrate involves both superficial and deep vascular plexuses
epidermis is normal
