histology:

diagnostic;  a distinctive form of acanthosis, characterized by an irregular elongation of the thin, branching, rete ridges (described as “antlers”;  look like adenoidal seborrheic keratosis) with a concentration of melanin at the tips
melanocyte count normal
histology distinguishes from AN and axillary freckling of neurofibromatosis
