AKA “venous stasis panniculitis”
histology: sclerosing panniculitis with dermal and subcutaneous fibrosis

 

Treatment:

20-40 mmHg of lower limb elastic compression
(i have had great results in patients with compression and a topical steroids alone, but these were early cases with milder disease)
trental (pentoxifylline 800 TID)

 

stanozolol (androgen) fibrinolytic

2 to 5mg BID
decreased pain after 3 weeks
decreased induration after 8 to 10 weeks
then decrease dose and add compression
(monitor BP and LFT's)
