• | AKA “venous stasis panniculitis” |
• | histology: sclerosing panniculitis with dermal and subcutaneous fibrosis |
Treatment:
• | 20-40 mmHg of lower limb elastic compression |
• | (i have had great results in patients with compression and a topical steroids alone, but these were early cases with milder disease) |
• | trental (pentoxifylline 800 TID) |
stanozolol (androgen) – fibrinolytic
• | decreased pain after 3 weeks |
• | decreased induration after 8 to 10 weeks |
• | then decrease dose and add compression |
