A few concepts to think about:

Choosing treatment based on immunopathogenesis:

The concept of "treat according to immunopathogenesis" is interesting but not always practical, however some useful concepts are presented below:

neutrophilic or more generally: "granulocytic" (i.e. includes neuts and eos) dermatoses

“anti-neutrophil” drugs = dapsone, colchicine, SSKI

Neutrophil Disease:Drug:

dermatitis herpetiformisdapsone
SCPDdapsone
erythema elevatum diutinumdapsone

psoriasis??

LCVcolchicine (not really effective)
erythema nodosumSSKI
Sweets syndrome??

Granulomatous dermatoses

tetracyclines inhibit T-cell proliferation/ granuloma formation in vitro
tetracyclines treat sarcoid,  silicone-induced subcutaneous granulomas, granulomatous cheilitis.

Lichenoid dermatoses

thalidomide?????

Extremely effective meds:

(some meds are so effective for certain diseases that they stand out and you should know them:)

dapsone:          dermatitis herpetiformis, Sneddon-Wilkinson
Plaquenil:        tumid LE/REM, SCLE
Accutane:        acne
