primigravidas
biopsy non-specific
begins late in third trimester or early post-partum
lesions begin on abdomen in 90% of patients (in a few days may spread in a symmetric fashion to include buttocks, thighs etc…)
initial lesions may be confine to striae
characteristically spares peri-umbilical area
mean duration = 6 weeks (not severe > 1 week)
most clear within one week of delivery
