T-Cell Receptor gene rearrangement:
CTPL (10-19% are clonal)
CTCL (up to 90% are clonal)
CTPL (compared with CBPL) = a more heterogenous group, and in most cases the cause is known (e.g. drug, contact, bite, light (i.e. actinic reticuloid)

as a rule, atypical lymphocytes and lymphoid follicles are not present
