superficial and deep path ddx includes  two spirochete diseases – secondary lues, e. migrans

 

Non-venereal treponemal infections

•= Pinta and Yaws
•spread by direct contact
•predominantly a disease of  underprivileged children
•both diagnosed clinically and by reactive serologic tests for syphilis
