Neutrophils

Top  Previous  Next
major task is ingestion and elimination of noxious material
2 types of granules:
1.azurophilic granules
25% of granules in the neutrophil
larger
contain hydrolytic enzymes and peroxidase
2.specific granules
75% of granules
smaller
major constituent is alkaline phosphatase

many neutrophilic disease are caused by immune complexes

hmtoggle_plus1many neutrophilic disease have IgA: (the secretory immunoglobulin)
HSP (IgA DIF)
DH (IgA DIF)
linear IgA bullous dermatitis/ chronic bullous dermatitis of childhood  (IgA DIF)
Subcorneal Pustular Dermatosis (IgA subset)
EED (IgA paraproteinemia)
Bergers disease
